Already a dance music sensation, singer-songwriter Erika Jayne fuses rhythmic pop, dance and chill electronic ballads in her debut album Pretty Mess.

We asked Erika about how all the attention feels and if she's ready for her gay icon status - she'd better be!

You’ve been described as “the spawn of a Sapphic union between Rita Hayworth and Traci Lords”. How does it feel to be called that?
It feels wonderful and perverse all at the same time.

The gays are bound to absolutely love you – are you ready for your gay icon status?
I'm ready for the gays to get into Erika Jayne.

Describe your new album Pretty Mess for us…
Pretty Mess is a sexy little trip into fantasy, love and escape. It makes you want to dance the whole time.

Do you feel that you’ve achieved what you set out to with the album?
My goal was to have a great time making music that I love and that people want to dance to. I think I did that.

What’s one of the most outrageous things you’ve ever done?
Have sex on an airplane.

Who do you have a crush on at the moment?
Johnny Depp.
