With the release of the new Star Wars film we’ve been inundated with jokes about men playing with their lightsabres that have had the fluffy gay men in the office rolling about on the floor quoting Yoda – not a pretty site I can assure you. Maybe it`s the power of Angelina that makes us love Lara Croft so much, it could also be the skimpy little shorts she runs around in. Who knew a video game could get us going like that?


7. Lieutenant Uhura
With her rigid bouffant hair, go-go boots and mini-dress, Uhura upstages Captain Kirk whenever they share a scene together. She keeps her cool even when she`s being tossed around by a mysterious alien force-field on the bridge of the Starship Enterprise.


6. Mystique
She`s a baddie! She`s a goodie! She`s a baddie again! Even with reptilian blue skin, the shape-shifting X-Men cutie is our favourite mutant by far.


5. Princess Leia
Carrie Fisher`s double-doughnut 'do in Star Wars is the best sci-fi hairdo in film history. We love the way she`s always dodging bullets, and the way that she`s down with the rebels even though she`s a posh princess-type person.


4. Ripley
She kills aliens and saves humanity. She also looks great in a torn T-shirt.


3. Sarah Connor
Linda Hamilton built herself into a muscled goddess as Sarah Connor in Terminator 2.


2. Tank Girl
The look that spawned a hundred thousand lesbian imitators.


1. Trinity
She`s deep, but she also kicks ass. She wears leathers in The Matrix and gets to drive a big motorbike. We like.
